English description provided by the architects.
Located on the shores of a reservoir in Minas Gerais, Brazil, the house was sited to open up entirely to the landscape.
Discrete lines follow the terrain, dissolving the architecture into the water, sky, and vegetation.
Upon arrival, a generous wooden roof organizes the path, guiding visitors inside and toward the reservoir while framing the horizon.
From the central circulation axis, two pavilions open up to the sides: the social areas are to the left, and the suites are to the right.
Pivoting wooden panels define the entire facade, functioning as brises-soleil that can be angled according to the residents' needs while maintaining views of the reservoir.
The architecture rests on the terrain, supported by a mixed structure of concrete, steel, and wood that allows for large spans and a flexible layout, combining spaciousness and lightness.
Wood serves as both structure and finish, creating a continuous relationship between the architecture and the interiors. The neutral palette and precise choice of materials allow the greenery and the landscape to take center stage in every room.
