English description provided by the architects.
There is a particular quality to the light that arrives from the Atlantic at this edge of Porto: unhurried, generous, carrying the weight of open water. Boavista Housing was designed to receive it.
It stands near the Foz, between the Ocean and the City Park, where the city begins to loosen its grip.
Eight apartments, each across two floors, compose a building whose volumes open to landscape, let nature enter, and return to the inhabitant a horizon once lost.
Every unit has its own vertical life: independent entrance, private elevator, an autonomy that brings each home close to the logic of a private house.
Four-bedroom apartments - some with an additional room the inhabitant defines - unfold across two floors: collective life below, private retreat above.
Suites give onto interior courtyards where light and air arrive without announcement. At the top, private rooftops with pools look out over the Atlantic.
Terraces, balconies, patios: each threshold lets the outside in, on its own terms.
The palette is one of sobriety and precision: wooden floors, marble-clad bathrooms, lacquered carpentry, refined aluminium frames.
Materials chosen for their honesty and their resistance to time.
The building holds DomusQual and DomusNatura certifications - a commitment to thermal comfort, energy efficiency, and a reduced footprint.
Boavista Housing is not a withdrawal from the city. It is an inhabitation of its edge. Where Porto's rhythm and the coast's quiet meet, the architecture holds the distance between them. Spaces that carry meaning beyond their walls, and that meaning stays.
