English description provided by the architects.
House 2302 renovates a traditional farmhouse in the Baix Empordà with respect for its setting and heritage, while embracing a contemporary perspective.
The architecture engages in dialogue with its surroundings, featuring open interiors and light-filled sequences rich in materiality.
The project revolves around two key interventions. The central space, previously fragmented by the staircase, becomes a semi-exterior core connecting the entrance to the south garden.
The interior walls act as façades, and the staircase, with concrete railings, defines circulation, levels, and a protected studio on the upper floor. The space creates an almost outdoor atmosphere where light, vegetation, and materials interact.
The kitchen's side porch combines solid and glazed bands, accommodating a dining area and barbecue with visual connection to the garden.
The lateral bays, with soft tones and natural woodwork, provide calm, while the central core, with stone, concrete, and wood, adds character.
The glazed south façade merges interior and exterior without losing the farmhouse's original essence.
