English description provided by the architects.
The house is located on the tranquil Peroba Beach, a fishing village in the Municipality of Icapuí, on the eastern coast of Ceará.
The built area occupies a small portion of the highest part of the land, preserving the natural topography and ensuring beautiful views toward the sea.
The program is simple, and the scale is modest and welcoming, much like the existing constructions in the region. The entrance to the house is through the open kitchen, a central space that connects the bedrooms and bathrooms, and leads to the generous balcony.
Above it, there is a covered terrace with no defined use, offering a view of the sea and plenty of space to hang hammocks, enjoy the sea breeze, and appreciate the sunset.
Some of the construction solutions and materials used are based on the knowledge of local labor:
whitewashed walls built with solid bricks, cementitious flooring, the presence of wood in the roof structure and part of the balcony floor, and “tabicão” type windows.
