Khanong Phra Campsite is a 100-rai (16-hectare) development nestled in the highlands of Khanong Phra, Nakhon Ratchasima.
Surrounded by sloping terrain, ridges, and stretches of flatland, the project offers visitors a peaceful escape into nature while seamlessly integrating essential infrastructure and comforts.
The project began with reshaping the land and establishing key infrastructure: three large water reservoirs for internal use, alongside dedicated water and power stations.
The master plan connects key architectural elements through a thoughtfully designed sequence, accessible both on foot and by vehicle, with a focus on visual and physical connectivity.
Visitors begin their journey at the Information Center and staff accommodations, located near the entrance.
Nearby is the Goose House, set beside a pond, where guests can observe the animals' natural behaviors in an open setting.
Deeper into the site, the agricultural greenhouse sits adjacent to the utility zone.
Designed with attention to prevailing wind and sun directions, its staggered roof heights accommodate a variety of plant types, from ground covers to climbers and trees, according to their light requirements.
This greenhouse zone not only supplies fresh produce to the on-site canteen but also provides ingredients for restaurants in the area.
Climbing further up the terrain, visitors reach Shelter 01, a semi-outdoor resting space built with lightweight, adaptable materials like a shading net.
Positioned above the greenhouse zone, the shelter offers a quiet retreat with sweeping panoramic views.
To withstand strong mountain winds, stone walls sourced both on-site and locally shield the delicate fabric roof while harmonizing with the landscape.
Tucked behind the walls, a canteen welcomes both overnight guests and day visitors, supported by newly constructed restrooms serving the activity zone.
At the highest point of the site lies the mountaintop campground, featuring six private overnight units.
Each unit comes equipped with a toilet, pantry, car parking, and dedicated tent space.
Capping the experience is a panoramic viewing deck, offering breathtaking vistas over the Khanong Phra valley, a fitting finale to this immersive journey through land and nature.
