Ethics, in principle, is about considering the other: the body of water in front of us, the soil and its microscopic inhabitants, the morning and afternoon light, the possibility of a tree traversing space without disturbing the birds' nest, or having the best conditions to gaze at the sky between canopies.
As a physical phenomenon, architecture can enhance imaginations. To begin with, we ask ourselves if in the language of the existing large stones, the best conditions can be found to relate to all the elements of a landscape.
In Casa Nola, in Cachipay, the answer lies in the balance that arises between the need to adapt to the environment and the desire to work with the available energy.
An architecture with specific weight, without picturesque elements, that allows itself to be permeated by the elements and the force of the surroundings. A pact with simplicity.
Ascending, descending, floating, lying down, entering or exiting. We seek to discuss the relative positions of the body.
In constructing this idea, there is a conscious preconception of movement and natural order: moving around the large stone, sheltering in a massive block of fired clay, walking on the roofs, extending across the terrace.
Architecture has charm to the extent that it allows itself to be inhabited by both elements and people. When it understands space as sequence, transit, and pause.
When, sometimes unconsciously, the construction facts respond to the geography of the place, its rhythms of light, the presence of water, and the possibility for nature to permeate it without resistance.
