6 for over 8 years to arrive at this very functional and award winning beautiful sustainable building.
The project designed by Larry Enyart, FAIA and Lance Enyart, AIA, is located off of the State Route 179 and is sited between the Christ Lutheran Church of Sedona and the Jewish Synagogue.
The two religious entities are interconnected with a friendship trail that passes in front of the entry sequence to the fire station.
The design of the project draws inspiration in form, materials, and texture from the beauty of the surrounding rock formations as well as the significant modern architecture of the nearby Chapel of the Holy Cross.
These spaces were meticulously designed to take advantage of the of the majestic views inherent to the area. The Project was dedicated in May of 2014 with over 300 people attending the special ceremony and memorial service to a fallen DPS officer.
Sedona 6 received the Coconino County Sustainable Building Program (CCSBP) Advanced Level Plus Design Excellence Award 2014.
