The Citizen -pavilion is a textile canopy commissioned by the Made in Kallio movement for the Flow-music festival in Helsinki.
The pavilion was built to accommodate a restaurant and public activities such as polling and citizen initiatives.
The height and orientation of the space left underneath variates to create a series of unique moments.
This was evident during the happenings: different groups gathered, and different themes took place in different areas under the single structure while the concrete stones provided seating.
The concrete founding stones support a light but rigid triangular steel skeleton, which enables the textile canopy be stable without stay ropes or cables - the typical space consuming solution.
