The Client Of This House Decided To Build One-storied House Because The Site Area Is Wide Enough, But It Was Necessary To Reduce The Foundation Area Because Of The Construction Budget.
The Client Asked To Create Japanese-style Space, So I Omitted Interior Decoration Materials And Wooden Structure (Pillar And Beam) Is Exposed To The Room.
COURTYARD
I Designed The Courtyard Style To Insert Outdoor Space Between A Living Rooms In Consideration Of The Client’s Lifestyle Which Uses The Outside Space Positively.
This Courtyard Space Has An Important Function For Daylighting And Ventilation In This House Which Has Only Few Openings Because Closets Are Arranged In The Outer Periphery.
STRUCTURE
This House Is Constructed Of A Pillar, Ridge And Eaves Beam And A Rafter Formed Climbing Beam.
Only a brace member and “Roof Formed Structure” which consist of a climbing beam and a structure plywood withstand the tremors of the earthquake.
A Pillar, A Horizontal Member And A Climbing Beam Is Exposed To The Room, But A Brace And Joint Metal Hardware Which Wasn't Used For A Traditional Wooden Building Are Hidden.
