Through its generous proportions, its simple planes, its lack of superfluous detail and its skilful distribution of space and light, Frame House is completeness of form.
Nestled within the landscape, Frame House presents its shortest elevation to the street, which creates seclusion and privacy.
Working with the site’s natural contours, the house is a predominantly steel and zinc building that sits within a stepped landscape of concrete terraces and pavers.
The surrounding dense vegetation and boundary wall purposely contrast with the building’s crisp robust form.
Part of the beauty of this property is the way in which it negotiates opposites.
While the exterior is dark, masculine and resolved, the interior is richly layered with a light material and colour palette. Both sit together effortlessly.
