The historic axe of the hospital leads to the entrance and helps to divide the program into two parts around two outdoor gardens.
A landscaped courtyard on the historic axe and a patio garden in the southwest corner of the site.
The entrance is pulled deep into the site to create an urban space with benches, landscaping, and bike parking.
The athletic rooms open onto the landscaped entrance courtyard providing a sense of activity to the outside and bringing the northern light from the courtyard into the recessed sports halls.
The façade is composed in alternating panels of white prefabricated concrete and large spans of glass. The large multisport room continues this pattern across the ceiling as large skylights.
This is a low energy building: 50kw/m²/year. On the roof, the skylight housing is fitted with photovoltaic panels pointed southward.
