HENN has won first place in the competition to design Kingdee Tower, the headquarters for software company Kingdee in Shenzhen, China.
The 44-story glazed tower will be the central building for the new headquarters, rising from an irregular pentagon plan situated between two existing nine-story blocks.
Geometric in form, the tower features three different heights, with conference floor levels projecting from the sides of the building.
These projections additionally encompass the building’s public space, which “enjoys maximum transparency and unobstructed outward views through the generous, flat-windowed surfaces.”
The façade of the design balances outward visibility and solar shading, its transparency and patterning taking into account incoming solar radiation and established room scheduling.
Furthermore, the shape and proportion of opaque façade elements are positioned in response to solar radiation, providing shade for the office areas of the building.
The building shell is to be completed by 2017. Learn more about the project here.
