Vilanova I La Geltrú Services Platform

The Platform Service is located on Sant Josep de Vilanova street, in the province of Barcelona. The building is arranged around a courtyard with different heights.

LFor the same reason, the facade that looks onto Sant Josep street is the lowest, allowing maximum entry of sunlight into the green area. The courtyard that faces this street is limited only by a terrace which integrates the garden area and the street. 

For the design criteria , the building prioritizes the domestic scale , trying to give maximum comfort space needed for the residents, which are known because of their long stay in the center.

Safety is also a very important factor which is obtained by organizing indoor and outdoor public spaces allowing an easy control and monitoring of residents.

Both access of goods and services are done on Pastera street , at a basement level , taking advantage of the slope in the terrain. At this level there is a loading and unloading dock and a small staff parking lot .

The functional program consists of a Residential Area , which consists of four hospitalization units (132 beds), a day care center area, with a capacity of 60 beds, a shared services area (Rehabilitation Area, Dining Rooms, Occupational Therapy, Public Toilets and Auditorium for 100 people capacity ), a Supplementary Service Area , Administrative and General Services.
