Text description provided by architect.
Constructed in a pine wooded area, the Savyon house integrates with the rhythms and textures of the landscape.
The envelope of the house is a steel structure with dramatic, custom wood frames.
That create continuity with the adjacent property both from the exterior views as well as from within the home.
The wood and metal envelope transforms while wrapping the house; into a two story high library, and later becomes an interior partition.
The house is comprised of three wings: The wood and metal public wing, the bedrooms wing and the services wing.
The last two are conventional plastered boxes which create a dialogue with the envelope by the reappearance of the wood in all the openings.
The wood work anchors the house in its surroundings therefore they are all the office's custom-made details.
