The future westward extension of the Landeyeux Hospital includes a therapeutic pool and a physiotherapy room.
The new volume forms a pivotal space between the old hospital building and the staff apartment building. A footbridge connects the project to the existing structures.
The façade is designed in copper panels, which are totally flush with the glazing to create a completely flat skin.
The footbridge is designed as an “outgrowth” of the main volume, and echoes its use of materials.
The double-height pool interacts with the landscape by framing it through a series of windows.
Large skylights and internal windows to the physiotherapy room provide daylight.
Colored unfinished concrete walls enclose the major spaces of the scheme with traffic areas between.
