Text description provided by architect.

Renewal and refurbishment of an anonymous existing building without any interest, was developed by exploring the double height until the roof for the creation of a mezzanine space.

The building functions as a residence, this proposition is developed in a philosophy that do not imply substantial alterations in the main volume, only the rise of the roof top, as well as the redesign of the roof itself, in order to guarantee the continuity of the St. Catherine's alley.

In the remaining construction, we consider a new occupation, demolishing the small compartments and creating an only and new space (kitchen/laundry and garage) with an interior courtyard.

The conception of the exterior volume is influenced by the harbor terminals pavilions made in metal structures and coated wood.

The house identification equally appears as an influence of the wood stored in the port and how is identified, with references that normally are painted to identify the lots with big colorful numbers.
