Text description provided by architect.
A former military warehouse was converted into a daytime bar and cooking lounge.
Whilst the employees of neighbouring offices use "Haus D" as a canteen during the day, cookery courses and gastronomic events take place in the venue in the evening.
For this purpose, a new build was „implanted" into the listed building, which fulfils structural and building physical requirements. Towards the exterior the inner structure shows in the vestibule, which penetrates the facade at an existing opening.
The centre of the room is an almost five metre long kitchen block, whose cover can be pushed open across the entire width during cookery events.
The bent geometry generates niches in the lounge, which serve as seating areas for the guests. Only the orange chairs and an illuminated rear kitchen wall add colour accentuations in the room.
