The new school complex combines three units: Acanteen, a science section and a roofed break area.

The buildingwas erected on the foundation of an old non-rehabilitable buildingthus covering the complete surface of the original former structure.

Areas not being accommodated are added to the roofed break room.

The spacious perron interlocks the latter with the adjacent schoolyard. The columns of the roof overhang negate their structural function.

Rather resemblingplayground equipmentthey enhancethe connection of both areas turning itinto an attractive, connected space for breaks. The building’s wall base is colouredwith individual coloured areas.

Its’ height is differentiated to different building edgessuch as window back, window lintel, eave, or construction joint between theexisting and thenew building.
