The house is located in the big dunes next to the Northern Sea on the Danish west coast. There is no vegetation, except from grasses.
The climate is tough with an almost constant strong wind from west. The house has a courtyard facing south, to embrace light and sun, and provide shelter.
The irregular shape of the house is due to optimizing space with direct view to the sea, as well as respecting the views to the sea, from the house behind. The house has different levels, responding to the site.
The balcony towards west and the sea cantilevers above a dramatic drop in the terrain. The exterior of the houses is cladded with black painted pine which is an old Danish building tradition, which makes the house blend in.
