Koichi Takada Architects (KTA) has released details on Australia’s biggest urban renewal project: Green Square.

“The two loops connect, becoming a seamless and continuous part of the architectural fabric,” described the architects.

The second, oriented due north, will provide residents with essential amenities and open space, while allowing sun and breezeways to enter into the public loop.

A gentle transition will be established via lush garden terraces.

Shaped by the pedestrian and traffic flows that surround the building, the mixed-use, multi-residential complex is expected to serve as the gateway of Sydney’s Green Square Town Centre by its completion in 2016.

The tower will be formed by two distinctive, continuing loops: the public and residential loop. The first, designed to activate the streetscape, will tilt towards the adjacent Green Square Plaza and ensure solar access.

“The resulting design is one that is fluid, connected, activated and responsive to the urban context of Green Square Town Centre and its desire for a new vision of architecture.”
