The concept of «tiny house» is gaining popularity in Europe and around the world. Compact adaptive solutions are becoming the most relevant and popular now. Russian architects also have something to offer the market in this direction.
SA lab from St. Petersburg has developed a universal module that can be adapted to any needs. The company has designed a multifunctional unit that is suitable for both urban and suburban use. The project was named FLEXSE.
The shape and size of the unit are optimal and allow it to be adapted to any function.
FLEXSE involves a whole line of functional content: coffee house, shop, lecture hall, gallery, office, meeting room, guest house, grill house, sauna, etc.
The module can be modified inside and outside - various finishes are available for selection. It is completely manufactured at the factory and then quickly and easily mounted on site.
The area of such a module is 10.5 m2, with the terrace it will be 30.5 m2. All used materials are environmentally friendly and recyclable.
The first unit was built as an all-season grill house, made in the traditional Scandinavian style. The house was designed and built as soon as possible. The basic module was modified according to the concept of the project and fully satisfied the needs of the customer.
Alina Chereyskaya, architect, partner at SA lab: «While working on FLEXSE we were inspired by the tiny house philosophy. The ellipse shape of the building allows to maximize the usability of internal space.
It is important to note that the building is suitable for use in any season. In winter inside the building you can comfortably cook and relax and in summer you can use the open terrace».
The universal module FLEXSE can become a cozy guest house, a summer pavilion or even a part of a hotel complex. It can be located as a separate building, as well as inside an existing building. A constructive solution makes it possible to place the FLEXSE on a flat surface, relief, water or even on the roof.
